Pakistan strongly responds back to the Indian government smear campaign against Pakistan

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has firmly rejected the unfounded remarks reportedlymade by Indian External Affairs Minister in an interview with a Frenchnewspaper and in interaction with certain other media outlets.

In a statement, Foreign Office Spokesperson said this outburst is yetanother reflection of India’s characteristic hubris and BJP government’swell-known smear campaign against Pakistan.

He said it is deplorable that to further the RSS-BJP extremist ideologicaland nationalistic agenda, and to divert global attention from the goryreality in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, senior Indian officials continue tomanufacture “facts” both with regard to the issue of terrorism and thesituation in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The spokesperson said if anything, Commander Kulbhushan Jadhav is the faceof India’s export of terrorism to Pakistan.

He said similarly, India’s frustration is evident from the fact thatdespite its relentless state-terrorism in occupied Kashmir for decades, ithas failed to muzzle the peaceful voices of Kashmiri people and theirdemand for self-determination, promised to them in the UN Security Councilresolutions.

He said India also continues to be the safe haven for those preaching hateand carrying out hate crimes, including against its own minorities, withimpunity under the state patronage.

He said as regards the Indian Minister’s farcical claim that the situationis back to normal in occupied Kashmir, the question is why this normalcy isnot visible to the outside world?

The spokesperson said for India, there is no escape from the reality thatits state-sponsored repression cannot break the will and indomitable spiritof Kashmiri people.

He said India would be well-advised to move away from its obsession withPakistan and also from its continued denial of reality.

He said Pakistan, for its part, would continue to highlight the plight ofthe people of occupied Kashmir and reiterate its call for peacefulresolution of the international dispute of Jammu and Kashmir.

He said as a country that has suffered the most from cross-borderterrorism, Pakistan would continue to contribute constructively to regionaland global efforts to promote peace and prosperity in the region and beyond.
