Pakistan Sees Record Surge in Exports to U.S., Trade Growth Signals Economic Momentum

Bilateral trade between Pakistan and the United States has recorded a 16% increase.

Details regarding trade between the two countries were obtained by Express News. According to sources, Pakistan-U.S. trade during the fiscal year 2024-25 reached $7.598 billion. During this period, Pakistan’s exports to the U.S. amounted to $5.836 billion, while imports from the U.S. stood at $1.763 billion.

Sources stated that exports saw a 10% increase compared to the previous year. Detailed figures show that exports of bed sheets, tablecloths, and kitchen linen reached $103.8 million. Men’s suits, jackets, and trousers were exported worth $93.6 million, while other ready-made garments reached $38.6 million. Similarly, T-shirt exports amounted to $36.1 million, and exports of jerseys, pullovers, and cardigans reached $31.2 million.

Additionally, exports of socks (hosiery) reached $27.8 million, and netted men’s shirts exports amounted to $24.4 million. Leather product exports were recorded at $16.5 million, while women’s suits, jackets, and dresses reached $15.7 million.

On the import side, a 40% increase was recorded compared to the previous year. Cotton imports from the U.S. stood at $39.3 million, while iron and steel scrap imports reached $15.9 million. Soybean imports amounted to $13.7 million, coal imports were recorded at $5.6 million, and chemical wood pulp imports remained limited to $5 million.

Similarly, imports of turbojets and gas turbines stood at $5 million, automatic data processing machines at $4 million, petroleum oil (excluding crude oil) at $3.8 million, and medical equipment at $3.6 million. Additionally, imports of nuts reached $3.3 million.
