DUBAI – The Department of Health in Abu Dhabi has warned residents againstusing three unlicensed male enhancement drugs that contained prescriptiondrugs.
The cautionary message was issued after the health authority removed MagicChocolate, Pena Tropin Capsules and VM Plus Capsules.
The Department of Health pointed out that laboratory results proved thatthe three products contained ingredients not mentioned in the products’labelling, which included sildenafil, tadalafil and vardenafil.
These are approved in prescription drugs used to treat erectiledysfunction. However, such hidden and undeclared ingredients in healthsupplements may interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs andmay lower blood pressure to dangerous levels and impair the cardiacfunction.
The authority also warned that male enhancement supplements can cause otherserious side effects like vision defects and shortness of breath, and canlead to a severe drop in blood pressure that can threaten the patient’slife.
