ISLAMABAD: Former interior minister Chaudhary Nisar ruled out thepossibility of seat adjustment with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) inupcoming general elections.
In a statement issued by disgruntled Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)leader, his spokesperson denied any negotiations with PTI regarding NA-59,PP-10, and PP-12.
Nisar’s statement was followed by a denial by PTI spokesperson FawadChaudhary who said that the party has no seat adjustment with Nisar termingthe news “fictitious and baseless”.
“PTI has directly nominated the senior vice-president Ghulam Sarwar Khan.We will field our own candidates across the country,” he said.
Earlier last month, the former interior minister announced contesting pollsfrom his stronghold NA-59 and two provincial seats.
Nisar served as a lawmaker from NA-52 Rawalpindi. After the delimitationprocess by Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), the new constituencyNA-59 comprises almost 60 per cent of areas which formed NA-52.
Nisar has been winning the National Assembly seat since 1985. He has servedas an MNA from Potohar region right times in the lower house of theparliament.
