NEW DELHI – Indian NSA Ajit Doval meets top Afghan envoy and seek role inAfghanistan endgame.
President Ghani’s Special Envoy Umer Daudzai held talks with Ajit Doval,India’s National Security Advisor, in New Delhi on Thursday and discussedthe regional countries’ role in the Afghan peace process, the High PeaceCouncil said in a statement on Friday.
In this meeting, Daudzai stressed the need for regional countries,especially India’s role, in the Afghan peace process and said the processwill be led by the government of Afghanistan.
The Indian national security advisor, meanwhile, said the conflict inAfghanistan should be solved through direct talks, led and owned by theAfghan government.
Daudzai recently visited Germany where he met with the German envoy forAfghanistan and Pakistan as well as other officials to discuss the Afghanpeace.
