RAWALPINDI – Online system of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA)crashed all over the country.
The process of issuing boarding cards to passengers at the airports came toa halt due to system’s failure.
The bug in the system also caused a delay in domestic and internationalflights, reducing the passengers in tears.
According to PIA officials, efforts are being made to debug the system andrestore services all over the country.
In January, the PIA’s online ticket booking system broke down on, leavingthe national carrier to suffer loss in sale of tickets and delay in flights.
The SABER, a US-based airline ticket booking system, had been down forhours and boarding passes were issued manually to passengers.
According to a PIA spokesperson, the ticket booking system’s link went downfor a couple of hours which later rectified by the SABER operator.
