Water Terrorism: India to stop Pakistan s 100,000 million acre feet water entering Punjab

NEW DELHI: Indian government has come up with another nefarious design to deprive Pakistan of its water in a new act of water aggression against Pakistan.

New Delhi is considering the option of blocking 100,000 million acre feet of water from River Ravi that flows into Pakistan, reported foreign media.

It is also preparing to allow the states of Indian held Kashmir and Punjab to share the water equally and has decided to share burden of occupied territory by constructing barrage and remaining part of Ranjit Sagar Dam.

Sources in media reports claimed that the Indian government was ready to fund the construction of the barrage and the remaining part of the dam in Gurdaspur district, constructed on the canal from Shahpur Kandi Barrage to Madhopur Headworks, downstream of the existing Ranjit Sagar Dam.

The sources said New Delhi took the step of blocking 100,000 million acre feet water every year under the Indus Water Treaty (IWT).

“The water will be shared equally by Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab,” they said, adding the water would be utilised in the barrage and dam and irrigation of 100,500 acre Kandi belt of Kathua and Samba districts of Jammu region.
