HARIPUR: Federal Minister for Water and Power Omer Ayub Khan Monday saidWapda would import electricity from Tajikistan to overcome electricityshortfall in the country.
“To overcome the electricity shortfall, we would import electricity fromTajikistan and will also improve our production,” he said this whileaddressing a public gathering at a neighboring village of Haripur.
The Minister further said that we are also working hard to stopelectricity’s theft and would soon install meters in all 860000transformers across the country to identify electricity pilferage.
Talking about the completion of the Khanpur road Omer Ayub Khan said that Ihave discussed the matter with the Chairman National Highways Authority(NHA) and the road from Chichian to Panyan, and Julian to Jandal includingthe small bridges and railway crossing would soon be constructed.
The minister stated that all basic needs of life would be provided topeople of Haripur and sui-gas facility to every street and village.
While accepting the demands of the people, Omer Ayub Khan said the issue oflow voltage and unscheduled load-shedding would be resolved through theprovision of new feeders, construction of grid stations and newtransformers.
The Minister announced up-gradation of the girls’ school, reserve quota ofemployment for locals in Haripur university, provision of electricity polesand water supply schemes.
