KABUL – Afghan MP Abaidullah Barekzai has claimed that the government hasno progress in the winter season and the anti-government groups controlmore territories in the country compared to last year.
He said Uruzgan province is on the verge of collapse to the Taliban.
A *number of Afghan lawmakers have expressed concerns regarding thesecurity situation in the country, saying if the government does not payheed to address the issue next solar year will be worse than this year.*
Parliament Speaker Abdul Raouf Ibrahimi on Saturday that the Lower Housewill ask the security officials to declare assessment on the currentsituation and that their plans for ensuring security in the country.
“Government has no control over a district center within 5km locality. Wealways voiced our concerns that money was being taken from the people forvarious reasons – including extortions and Zakat (Islamic taxation) – [inFarah province]” said MP Mohammad Sarwar Usmani.
