ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan says government is working tofacilitate small and medium industry and exporters of the country.
Addressing the 42nd award ceremony of Federation of Pakistan Chambers ofCommerce and Industry in Islamabad on Monday night, he said both are thebackbone of commerce and trade in any country.
He said obstacles in the way of doing business will be removed to giveboost to small and medium enterprises. He said several steps have alreadybeen taken to facilitate the exports industry.
The Prime Minister said the nation needs to change its mindset regardingthe business or setting up industry in Pakistan. He said the attitude ofbureaucracy towards the business sectors will also be changed and it wouldneed to remove bottlenecks in the way of doing business. The Prime Ministersaid increased prosperity will come into the country through commerce andindustry.
Imran Khan said Singapore is exporting 330 billion dollars worth of goodsdespite having much smaller population than Pakistan. Imran Khan said ourexports of 24 billion dollars are meager keeping in view the size of ourpopulation and economy.
He said wealth creation and profitability are genuine concerns of anybusiness. He said wealth creation leads to increased taxes, more employmentopportunities and overall prosperity.
The Prime Minister said besides facilitation of exporters, efforts are alsoafoot to make the industry competitive for international markets.
