ISLAMABAD – Attorney General Anwar Mansoor Khan has said that Shariffamily have always been given “too much relief”.
Addressing a news conference, the AG said that former premier Nawaz Sharifand his family has been given too much relief even though ordinary peopleand those from the privileged classes should be treated equally.
The attorney general had been asked whether or not relief, similar toSharif, would be given to ordinary prisoners, allowing them to be treatedby doctors at their homes. “I believe that Nawaz Sharif and his family haveenjoyed too much relief; we want equal treatment for all.”
Anwar Mansoor has said the matter involving former premier Nawaz Sharif’sremoval from the ECL as per LHC’s orders will be produced before thefederal cabinet after receiving the detailed judgement. “The federalcabinet would decide whether it should file an appeal against the LHC’sjudgement,” he added.
Mansoor Khan warned that if the undertaking for the return the former primeminister is not fulfilled, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif will bedisqualified for lifetime in view of Article 62 (1) (f) on account ofsubmitting false statement in the Lahore High Court (LHC).
The AGP said that that Shehbaz had submitted an affidavit in LHC in whichan undertaking for Nawaz’s return was given. “This undertaking is not anordinary thing as it has grave repercussions. If the same is not fulfilled,Shehbaz can be disqualified for lifetime,” he said.
On the other hand, Nawaz Shariflinkislikely to leave for treatment in London tomorrow (Tuesday). The sons ofNawaz Sharif, Hassan and Hussain Nawaz has booked an air ambulance thatwill arrive in Lahore on Tuesday and subject to permission of his doctors,Nawaz will leave for London on the same day.
