ISLAMABAD – A spokesman of the prime minister Friday said that thegovernment would neither let undermine the sanctity of the parliament norit would make any compromise on its efforts to rid the country ofcorruption.
In a statement, the spokesman said barring Information Minister from Senateby Chairman of the Upper House was an extraordinary step and the situationin the House had raised serious concerns.
The prime minister had tasked the defence minister to resolve the matterwho did it amicably.
He said there was no laxity or contradiction in the government’s stance toresolve the matter.
The sanctity of the parliament, as well as decisive steps againstcorruption, were the focal points of the government’s agenda, he added.
