After postponed Pakistan visit, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan to leave for emergency foreign policy visit

MOSCOW -After postponed Pakistan visit scheduled for October 23, TurkishPresident Tayyip Erdogan to leave for emergency foreign policy visit.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is likely to visit Russia’s BlackSea resort of Sochi to hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin onOctober 22, the Turkish presidential administration announced on Wednesday.

Erdogan spoke by phone with Putin on Tuesday. The leaders discussed thesituation in Syria and the ongoing Turkish Operation Peace Spring on theSyrian territory. At the end of the conversation, Putin invited Erdogan tovisit Russia in the coming days.

“Our president plans to pay a visit to Sochi on October 22,” the Erdogan’sadministration said in a statement.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov earlier confirmed that Putin andErdogan would discuss the developments in Syrialinkinlight of the Turkish military operation against Kurdish militants innortheastern Syria during the Turkish president’s visit to Russia, Sputnikhas reported.
