Pakistan strongly responds over terrorist attack on Afghan President election rally

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has strongly responded over terrorist attack onAfghan President election rally that killed and injured over 50 people.

Afghan President Ashraf Ghani escaped the deadly bomb blast, Afghan mediahad reported. Pakistan strongly condemned the terrorist attack outside theelection rally of Afghan President Ashraf Ghani in Parwan province onTuesday.

In a statement, Foreign Office (FO) spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal offeredheartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. He also said Pakistancondemns terrorist attack in all its forms and manifestations.

The FO spokesperson said Pakistan fully supports the Afghan efforts forrestoring complete peace and stability in the country through thestrengthening of the democratic process in Afghanistan.

In a statement, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said the loss ofinnocent lives in the attack is highly condemnable. He said peace inAfghanistan is important for peace and stability of the region.
