ICC unveils latest Test Rankings, Pakistan team and players climb up the ladder

DUBAI – Following the Test victory against Ireland at Malahide, Pakistanhave earned one-point in the ICC Test Rankings.

The Green shirts remain at 7th position in Test rankings with 87 pointswhereas Ireland — who will get a ranking only after eight Test matches —are yet to take their first points.

Indian team remains in the pole position with 125 points. South Africa,Australia and New Zealand occupy the 2nd, 3rd and 4th position with 112,106 and 102 points respectively.

Pakistan requires at least three wins if they are to move a spot above SriLanka, who sit in 6th spot with 94 points.

The ICC Test Player Rankings have also been updated where the debutantsImam-ul-Haq and Faheem Ashraf made impressive gains as they enter into ICCTest Player Rankings.

Following an unbeaten 74 which led Pakistan to victory against Ireland,Imam-ul-Haq has been ranked 81st in Test Rankings. Similarly, Faheem hasalso been recognized by the ICC for his handy contribution of 83 runs in1st innings — Faheem has been ranked 113th.

In the bowling department, Mohammad Abbas has reached his career best 29thposition in Test cricket with 539 points whereas Mohammad Amir has jumpedtwo positions to 37th.

ICC press release stated:

Pace bowlers Abbas and Amir have moved up the ladder with Abbas gainingeight slots to reach a career-best 29th position and Amir advancing twoplaces to 37th position. Abbas finished with nine for 110 in the matchwhile Amir took five for 72.
