KARACHI: The tussle between the Sindh Government and the Sindh Inspector General of Police seems to be resolving as the incumbent Inspector General of Police has voluntarily submitted to surrender from his post.
Inspector General (IG) Sindh Police, AD Khawaja has offered to relinquish his charge voluntarily, stating that he was unable to continue has job due to mounting pressure.
In a reply submitted before the Sindh High Court, AD Khawaja states, “I can’t continue working.” “Since past six months, it has become very difficult for me to work,” he added.
In the application submitted through his counsel, Advocate Shahab Osto, IGP said, “It will be in best interest of police as an important public institution and public order, that he should voluntarily step down and allow competent authorities to resolve the issue of IGP’s appointment through mutual consultation and consensus, without further delay.”
Khawaja, through his counsel, requested the court to allow him formally approach the federal government to recall his services from the province of Sindh.
