ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has acquired newdocuments from London which state that the Sharif family’s Londonapartments were transferred to the possession of offshore companies Nielsonand Nescoll in 1993-1995.
According to NAB sources, the Avenfield properties were transferred to theoffshore companies at the time when Nawaz Sharif’s children, Hussain andHasan, were young and did not have any source of income.
Therefore, they cannot be considered owners of the properties and thus theformer premier was their real owner.
The Avenfield properties reference is among three cases filed against Nawazand his family by NAB in 2017 on the Supreme Court’s directives.In various statements, Nawaz has said the Avenfield properties weretransferred in the name of the companies in 2005-2006 and that theybelonged to his children.
The hearing of the Avenfield properties case is presently under way in theaccountability court of Islamabad.
