Lahore: *PCB Chief Executive makes important announcement over therescheduling of PSL playoffs and finals.*

The CEO of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Wasim Khan said that they will tryto find out a window later in the year to complete the Pakistan SuperLeague (PSL) season 5.

While talking to the media, Khan assured safety was their first priorityand they postponed the event after a player showed symptoms of COVID-19.

“We have immediately taken the decision to postpone PSL 5 knockout stageafter a player, who had left Pakistan a few days ago, showed symptoms ofCOVID-19. The decision is for the betterment of every individual who wasinvolved in the league,” he said.

“Let me make one thing clear, we haven’t canceled the league, it ispostponed. We will try to reschedule the PSL 5 knockout stage later in theyear if possible. Once the situation gets better, we will plan to completethe league,” he added.

The CEO highlighted the role of PCB in making it possible to let the eventcontinue successfully.

“The PCB believes it has made the right decisions in the lead up to thepostponement of the tournament that included consulting the team owners,holding the matches behind closed doors, allowing the players the option towithdraw from the tournament, rescheduling of the matches and reducing thenumber of event days, he concluded.
