Indian government removes portrait of PM Imran Khan from Cricket Club of India

ISLAMABAD – Amid rising tension between India and Pakistan following thesuicide attack on an Indian military convoy in occupied Kashmir, New Delhiremoved the portrait of Prime Minister Imran Khan—former Pakistan cricketteam captain—from the Cricket Club of India (CCI), Hindustan Times reported.

The portrait was placed in the All Rounder Restaurant in the club. Aphotograph of Imran Khan with his national teammates, which was placed onone of the walls of the club.

On February 14, a suicide car bomber rammed a bus carrying troopersbelonging to Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in the deadliest attack onIndian occupying forces there since 2002.

The suicide bombing outside Srinagar reportedly claimed by theJaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) group, saw explosives packed inside a van ripthrough buses in a convoy of 78 vehicles, carrying some 2,500 members ofthe paramilitary force.
