LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-Chairman and former president,Asif Ali Zardari has said that the only threat to the country was from the“Sheikh Mujeeb” of Jati Umra, which is the resident of former premier NawazSharif.
Addressing a joint opposition protest rally to seek justice for the ModelTown tragedy in Lahore on Wednesday, he said “they” cared only about JatiUmra.
He claimed that only PPP cared about Pakistan, its soil, and its peopleadding that was the reason their party raised the slogan of Pakistan evenwhen Benazir Bhutto was martyred.
Zardari further claimed they he could topple the government of PakistanMuslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) at anytime; however, he refrained from doingsuch for the sake of democracy.
He concluded his speech saying that they would get justice for the victimsof Model Town tragedy and the bereaved family of seven-year old Zainab.
