LAHORE – The Supreme Court on Friday grilled Zulfiqar Bukhari, specialassistant to PM Imran Khan on overseas Pakistanis.
SC sought a detailed report regarding the bio data, eligibility andappointment of Zulfi Bukhari as the prime minister’s special assistant onoverseas Pakistanis and human resource development.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar presided over the hearing in thetop court’s Lahore registry.
“Appointing individuals on significant posts is an imperative nationalduty. These issues will run as per national interests and not on the basisof friendship,” remarked the judge.
The CJP while expressing resentment over the behaviour of Bukharimaintained, “Leave your anger at home. You will be the friend of someoneelse but not of Supreme Court.”
Bukhari’s counsel Aitzaz Ahsan told court that appointing a special adviseris the right of the prime minister.
