LAHORE – A Lahore High Court (LHC) bench Wednesday issued notices to theNational Accountability Bureau (NAB) and others on a petition of bureaucratFawad Hassan Fawad challenging arrest.
The bench headed by Justice Muhammad Tariq Abbasi heard the petition.
During the proceedings, the petitioner’s counsel argued that NAB arrestedhis client in connection with the Punjab Land Development Company / AshianaIqbal Housing scam without fulfilling legal requirements.
He said inquiry against his client for having illegal assets was initiatedduring the remand period and requested the court to order his release. Healso requested the court to issue directions for formation of a medicalboard for medical examination of Fawad.
However, the bench declined the request for formation of a medical boardand asked the counsel to move a civil miscellaneous application for thepurpose.
The court then adjourned the hearing.
