LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif vowed to create newprovinces if the party is given mandate by the public. He also gave creditto his party for governance and service delivery.
In addition to registering his efforts made in South Punjab for socialuplift of a common man, he also tweeted today, “Taking governance to thedoorstep of the people has been a hallmark of our politics. Efficientdelivery of services is possible through empowerment of the people at thegrassroots.
We will not play politics on slogan of new provinces and feed people onfalse promises. However if the masses give PML-N a mandate, our commitmentto making South Punjab and Bahawalpur new provinces is evidenced by passageof resolution by Punjab Assembly.”
It is pertinent to understand that 32% of Punjab’s total populationconstitutes South Punjab, and provincial government is allocating 36% ofPunjab’s development budget every year (2014-2018).
