Babar Azam has declared his resignation as captain across all cricketformats. The announcement follows a meeting with PCB Interim ManagementCommittee Chairman Zaka Ashraf in Lahore, prompted by the team’sdisappointing performance in the ICC World Cup.

Television footage captured fans and journalists surrounding Babar’s car ashe left the PCB headquarters, and the meeting reportedly centered on thefuture of his captaincy.

Ashraf also engaged with team director Mickey Arthur, head coach GrantBradburn, and other committee members. The decision comes in the wake ofPakistan’s poor World Cup showing, where they lost five of nine games,including a significant defeat by India in Ahmedabad.

Discussions on team strategy took place with former captain Younis Khan,along with ex-pacers Wahab Riaz and Sohail Tanvir advising against drasticchanges before the upcoming Test series against Australia.
