New Delhi: The top army commanders are discussing the emerging threats fromdrones, increasing retirement age of soldiers and any need forreorganisation of Army in Jammu & Kashmir after the state was bifurcated.The Army Commanders’ conference is being held in the national capital fromOctober 14 to 19.
The conference, an apex level biannual event, is held in April and Octoberevery year. The conference facilitates conceptual level deliberationsculminating in important policy decisions.
“The conference will discuss re-organisation of Army in Jammu and Kashmiras after October 31 it will be divided into two Union territories,” saidsources. Currently, Ladakh comes under the Untied headquarters.
“The commanders will be brainstorming on how Army adjusts its command inthe new set-up,” said sources.
