BISHKEK – Prime Minister Imran Khan met Russian President Vladimir Putinand emphasized on the need of promoting Pak-Russia bilateral relations atShanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit on Friday.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that premier Khan had a greatmeeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Putin onthe sidelines of SCO.
FM Qureshi told that both leaders had a brief one and a half hour meetingwhere they discussed matters pertaining to Kashmir issue, regional andMiddle East situation and Afghanistan. He added that the Russian Presidentappreciated Pakistan’s role and efforts for promoting regional peace andsecurity.
Talking to media, he asserted that various changes are happening in theworld. “Significance of the SCO has increased for us more than ever before,he expressed.
Many agreements happened in the forum while regional links were alsodiscussed in the 19th Meeting of the Council of the Heads of State of SCO.
