*KARACHI / ISLAMABAD: **In a setback, Coronavirus cases in Pakistanregisters increase and tally reached 33.*
Two new cases of novel coronavirus have been confirmed in Balochistan onSaturday, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases in the province to 10and Pakistan to 33, the provincial government spokesperson Liaquat Shahwanisaid.
Earlier in the day, three more cases of novel coronavirus surfaced in thecountry, including Islamabad’s first and second locally transmitted case inKarachi.
A woman, who had recently arrived in the federal capital from the UnitedStates, was tested positive at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences(PIMS) today, the health facility’s spokesperson Dr Waseem Khawajaconfirmed.
The patient is in critical condition and has been put on ventilator, headded.
With two fresh cases of COVID-19 in Sindh, the provincial tally has risento 17.
One patient recently returned from Saudi Arabia while the other patient’sfather has a travel history of the United Kingdom and transmitted the virusto his young child, Secretary Health Zahid Abbasi told Chief Minister MuradAli Shah during the meeting of coronavirus task force.
The provincial health department has also taken the samples of secondpatient’s father.
Both cases are from Karachi.
