QUETTA – Security forces have foiled a terrorist activity in southwesternBalochistan province by arresting a suicide bomber alive, the InterServices Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday.
During an intelligence based operations (IBO), the security forces raided asuspected terrorist hideout in Chaman from where they apprehended anunregistered Afghan individual along with ready suicide jackets, IEDsmaking material, and communication equipment, according to the military’smedia wing.
Last week, two terrorists were killed in intelligence-based operationsconducted by the Frontier Corps in Balochistan’s Kalat, Kharan and Maiwandareas.
The raids were carried out as part of Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad, or‘Elimination of evils’, which was launched on Feb 22, 2017 following aseries of deadly bombings across the country in that year.
In those raids, the security forces also recovered weapons and ammunition,including sub-machine guns, IEDs, grenades, mines, RPG-7 rockets andcommunication equipment.
Days before that, four security officials were martyred and as many otherswere wounded while staving off a terrorist attack on a training center of aparamilitary force in central Balochistan.
