KABUL – Terrorist organisation ISIS is gaining strong footholds in easternKunar province of Afghanistan bordering Pakistan.
ISIS Khurasan militants launched simultaneous attacks in two districts ofeastern Kunar province, the Afghan military said Tuesday.
According to a statement released by 201st Silab Corps of the AfghanMilitary in the East, the ISIS militants launched attacks on army posts inMarwara and Watapur districts earlier today.
The statement further added that the Afghan forces effectively responded tothe attack and forced ISIS militants to retreat.
According to 201st Silab Corps, the ISIS militants have also sustainedcasualties during the clashes but the exact number has not been ascertainedso far.
