ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharifannounced on Thursday of the party’s plan to approach the Lahore High Court(LHC) to seek Nawaz Sharif’s removal from the Exit Control List (ECL).
Addressing a press conference, the president said that the party hasrejected government’s conditional offer for Nawaz to travel abroad. Hefurther said that the government by asking the PML-N to submit indemnitybonds to secure permission for Nawaz to travel abroad was in fact demandingransom.
He further said that when the LHC had passed its judgement that Nawaz beallowed to travel wherever, what was the use of government’s condition onasking for indemnity bonds. He said while the whole nation is worried aboutNawaz’s health, the government is only concerned about politics. “NawazSharif’s health has been turned into a shuttlecock,” he said.
Shehbaz said the political game staged by Prime Minister Imran Khanregarding Nawaz’s health is condemnable. He said under no condition willthey accept government’s demand for indemnity bonds. “Imran Khan canneither give nor take an NRO (National Reconciliation Ordinance)like deal”,Shehbaz said.
Meanwhile, LHC has fixed the petition for hearing and a two-member benchheaded by Justice Baqir Ali Najfi will hear the case.
