Indian Army dragging tied dead body of Kashmiri youth creates outrage

SRINAGAR – Pictures showing Indian army dragging a tied dead body ofKashmiri youth on the streets has created outrage.

The people strongly condemned the action and criticized the army for theiraggravated human rights violations in the occupied valley of Kashmir.

Indian troops in their fresh acts of state terrorism martyred at leasteight youth in Sopore, Kupwara and Riasi areas of the territory yesterday.

Of these martyred two were killed in Sopore, three in Kupwara and three inJhajjar Kotli area of Reasi. All of them were shot dead during cordon andsearch operations by Indian troops.

Indian army pressed gunship helicopters into the service during theoperation in Jhajjar Kotli. The authorities imposed restrictions andsuspended internet services, while educational institutions were closed inthe name of precautionary measures.

On the other hand, the Joint Resistance Leadership has described thestatement of new UN rights chief, Michelle Bachelet as a ray of hope forthe people of occupieed Kashmir, facing the brunt of human rightsviolations at the hands of Indian occupation forces.

The leadership in a statement in Srinagar expressed grave concern over theinhuman treatment meted out to the political prisoners in different jails.

A complete shutdown is being observed in Sopore, Langate, Handwara andZaengeer areas of North Kashmir against the killing of youth. Call for thestrike has been given by the Joint Resistance Leadership.
