ISLAMABAD: Former finance minister Khawaja Asif lands in hot waters.
The federal cabinet on Saturday approved investigations against formerdefence minister Khawaja Asif for holding Iqama during his tenure as aminister.
Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awansaid the investigation will reveal how a guarantor of national securitybecame a national security risk himself, “Asif has become a missingperson,” she said. “Those who have received from the NAB are creating hueand cry.”
She said that the cabinet has referred the case to Interior Ministry, andthe investigation will take into account the countries who have interestswith the company which gave Iqama to Asif, adding that the case was ‘aserious security breach’.
