ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi met former premier NawazSharif today after chairing a meeting of the National Security Committee(NSC) at the residence of Chaudhry Muneer.
As per the details, they discussed the NSC meeting which was held to reviewNawaz’s controversial statement on the Mumbai attacks.
The meeting was also attended by Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N)leader Maryam Nawaz and other senior party leaders.
Earlier today, the NSC met and categorically denied former premier NawazSharif’s recent statement on the 2008 Mumbai attacks and unanimously termedit “completely false and misleading”.
The NSC, which met under the chair of Prime Minister Abbasi, said in itsstatement that the country’s top civil and military leadership conducted adetailed review of Nawaz’s statement printed in a newspaper interview onSaturday.
The participants observed that it was very unfortunate that the opinionarising out of either misconceptions or grievances was being presented indisregard of concrete facts and realities.
“Pakistan will continue its efforts to eliminate terrorism on all fronts,”said an official statement of the NSC.
