KABUL: The US Special Representative for Afghanistan ReconciliationAmbassador Zalmay Khalilzad has a new demand from Pakistan over AfghanTaliban.
Khalilzad has condemned the announcement of spring offensive by Taliban ashe called on Pakistan to condemn the announcement as well, the Afghan mediareported on Saturday.
“The Taliban’s spring offensive announcement is reckless.
It is irresponsible to suggest that an increase in violence is warrantedbecause the government announced a security plan. The Afghan people haveclearly voiced their desire for peace,” Ambassador Khalilzad said in astatement posted in Twitter.

He said “Through this announcement, Taliban leaders demonstrate theirindifference to the demands of Afghans across the country. The call formore fighting will not advance peace efforts. If executed, it will onlyyield more suffering and thousands more causalities.”
