*ISLAMABAD – Pakistan cricket captain Sarfraz Ahmed* set a newwicket-keeping record during the final Test match against South Africa onSunday. Sarfraz took 10 catches in the on-going Test match and surpassedAustralia’s Adam Gilchrist and former Indian captain, MS Dhoni, to becomethe only wicket-keeper captain to reach this feat.
Furthermore, the Pakistani captain has also made another record; takingfive catches in each innings of a Test match.
His 10 catches in a Test match is one better than the record previouslyshared by Kamran Akmal and Rashid Latif, as well.
The record comes as Pakistan faces a 3-0 whitewash threat against SouthAfrica, a series that has been a story of question marks for the Pakistanidugout.
