RAWALPINDI – The 216th Corps Commanders Conference was held at GHQpresided by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
During the meeting, the forum reviewed geo-strategic environment withspecial focus on regional security and situation on Eastern and WestemBorders including Line of Control. Progress of ongoing stability operationsfor internal security was also discussed.
Forum highlighted importance of regional approach to eliminate roots ofterrorism and attached hopes for success of ongoing Afghan reconciliationprocess while supporting all stakeholders to bring Afghan war to a peacefullogical conclusion.
Forum also pledged to safeguard against all external threats whileconsolidating gains of counter terrorism military operations which have putsecurity situation of the country on positive trajectory for socio-economicprogress and development.
