ISLAMABAD: 12 members Parliamentary Committee has been constituted regarding the appointment of Election Commission of Pakistan provincial members.
As per details, federal government has approved to form a committee for the appointment of ECP Provincial members that include 8 members from National Assembly and 4 Senators.
PML-N 5 members, PPP 3 members, PTI, MQM, ANP and National Party 1 member each are included in Parliamentary Committee respectively.
Captain Safdar, Junaid Anwar, Arshad Laghari, Dr. Darshan and Senator Ayesha are representing PML-N while Ayaz Soomro, Shazia Mari and Islam ud Din are representing PPP in Parliamentary Committee.
Shahryar Afridi, Farooq Sattar, Daood Achakzai and Mir Kabeer Ahmad will represent PTI, MQM, ANP and National Party respectively.
PM Nawaz and Opposition leader Khurshid Shah will send names for the appointments of provincial members of ECP with consensus while Parliamentary Committee will approve after reviewing the names.
It is pertinent to mention here that election commission four members were retired on June 10 after completing their constitutional tenure.
