JHELUM: Another woman has been killed on the name of honor on Friday inPind Dadan Khan area of Jhelum.
According to details, the deceased was identified as Shagufta and shesought to marry a man named Hussain but her family refused her to wed theman of her own will and eventually she run away with Hussain.
Later the family of Shugufta accepted her demand and approves her marriageand brought Shagufta back from Hussain house and later strangled her todeath.
Police shifted the body of Shagufta to a local hospital for post mortemafter the incident.
Some 500 women are killed each year in Pakistan at the hands of familymembers over perceived damage to ‘honor’.
