ISLAMABAD – The Pakistani captain Sarfraz Ahmed has lashed out at thebatsmen over the disgraceful defeat against New Zealand.
Sarfraz has blamed the batting top order for failing to perform in allthree one-day internationals (ODIs) against New Zealand during the awaytour.
During the post-match discussion, Sarfraz told, “A tough loss, batting wasagain flop. We will sit together and sort it out.”
He acknowledged that the top order was not able to perform well against thenew ball bowlers. “The problem is the new ball. We ll not give so manywickets in the first 10 overs,” he expressed when asked about the threeconsecutive losses.
Sarfraz himself hasn t performed well with only one two-figure score in thelast five international innings.
On the other hand, the New Zealand captain Kane Williamson praised his newball pacers Trent Boult and Tim Southee for providing the vitalbreakthroughs consistently. “Fantastic performance all around, a toughsurface to get in on. Tim and Trent to start off, just built up thatpressure,” he said.
New Zealand thrashed Pakistan in the third ODI at Dunedin and clinched thefive-match series with two games to come. Boult picked up five wickets todemolish the Pakistani batting lineup.
