Pakistan Army Chief held meeting with Iranian Ambassador at GHQ

RAWALPINDI – Mehdi Honardoost, Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan, paid afarewell call on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa atGHQ on Tuesday.

According to a press release issued by the ISPR, COAS thanked theambassador for his services in Pakistan and acknowledged his contributionstowards improving Pak-Iran relations.

The visiting dignitary also appreciated the COAS for contributions of PakArmy towards regional peace and stability and for efforts in makingPak-Iran border of peace.

On November 12, Lieutenant General You Haitao, Deputy Commander of ChinesePeople’s Liberation Army, had called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) GeneralQamar Javed Bajwa at GHQ .

According to a press release issued by the ISPR, matters of mutual interestand army-to-army staff talks were discussed during the meeting.

On November 7, Lieutenant General Hans Werner Wiermann, Director GeneralInternational Military Staff (IMS), North Atlantic Treaty Organization(NATO) had met Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at GHQ.

According to a press release issued by the ISPR, matters of mutualinterests, including regional security situation, were discussed during themeeting. The visiting dignitary appreciated role of Pakistan Army inensuring peace and stability in the region.
