LAHORE – Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Hasan Askari and the interiorminister Shaukat Javaid land into troubles as court has been moved tolaunch an FIR against both officials.
PML N leader Rana Mashood has lodged a petition alleging politicalvictimisation by the two officials.
The petition was taken up by an additional district and sessions judge onSaturday, a local media outlet reportedlink.
The petition alleged that the interim-setup had used its authority totarget the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) workers and that fake caseswere registered against the party’s top leadership.
In addition, the election campaign of the party was also negatively impactdue to efforts by Askari and Interior Minister Shaukat Sultan, the petitionalleged.
Mashood’s petition said he approached Sherakot police with an applicationbut officials were not prepared to take legal action against the caretakerset-up. He requested the court to order the local officer to register anFIR.
