Shahbaz Sharif praised in Indian media for appreciating India in his speech

NEW DELHI – Pakistan Muslim League’s-N President Shehbaz Sharif today saidthat while corrupt politicians in India are being punished, in Pakistanthey contest elections.

During a press conference, Shehbaz Sharif said, “In India, actions havebeen taken against political leaders like their former PM Narasimha Rao andJ Jayalalithaa. However, there are people in Pakistan who have beeninvolved in scams worth billions and are today fighting elections andgiving sermons, New Indian Express has reported.

Issuing a call for free and fair elections, Shehbaz Sharif said that India,Bangaldesh, Sri Lanka, Singapore and China have surpassed Pakistan invarious fields. He said that it’s only through free and fair elections thatPakistan can be made into “Iqbal’s idea of Pakistan”.

“India surpassed us in various fields. We thought Bangladesh is a baggageand it slipped off our hands. Look at Sri Lanka, Singapore, China all ofthem worked on our blue print and today we’ve lagged behind. If we don’tlearn our lesson then God help us. *Aaj Hindustan G20 mein jaata hai tomere dil ko teer lagte hain ki Modi (PM Modi) wahan jaake khada hota haiaur hum tamasha dekh rahe hain*. Let’s convert this opportunity into makingit Iqbal’s Pakistan, it’s only possible through free & fair elections,” hesaid.

He also pointed out that Pakistan is in a bad position economically.

“Our economy is on the verge of decline, stock exchange is going down, ourreserves can support only one month’s import now, our investors went backto London and Dubai wondering what would happen on 25 July in Pakistan,” hesaid.

General elections in Pakistan will be held on July 25. The presentgovernment competed its tenure on May 31 and the country is currently underthe caretaker government which took over on June 1.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announced that a total of 105.95million voters will use their right of vote to elect the new government.Among them 59.2 million are male voters and 46.7 million are female voters.
