ISLAMABAD – Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad announces to donatehistoric Lal Haveli for a big cause.
He on Friday while announcing to donate his famous Lal Haveli foruniversity said that he once used to sell books outside the haveli.
Lal Haveli is among the historic buildings in Rawalpindi.
The haveli was built by Dhan Raj Saigol who left for India leaving theHaveli to his mistress Budhan Bai and thence it is said to have been theabode of that woman before the independence of Pakistan.
Saigol had a Masjid and a Temple built within the confines of his Haveli,masjid for the woman and a temple for himself. The woman left the place forgood when her brother was murdered here.
