ISLAMABAD – In a bid to help the national airlines’ revival, UK PakistanChambers of Commerce & Industry (UKPCCI ) has offered an aircraft toPakistan International Airlines (PIA). The body also showed interested ininvesting in the airlines.
The head of seven-member UKPCCI delegation, Mian Mohammad Waheed made theseremarks during a meeting with CEO PIA Air Marshal Arshad Malik.
The delegation said that the Pakistani business community in UK isimpressed with Prime Minister Imran Khan and wants to invest in varioussectors.
UKPCCI chief said that PIA is a national asset and that the body wants itto be back among the leading airlines of the world.
“Most of the Pakistani community in the UK still prefers to travel fromPIA. We want to see the national flag carrier among the leading airlines,”Mian Waheed said, adding that they were ready to inject a hefty amount init.
The UK-Pakistan CCI also offered to gift an aircraft to PIA saying thatmore jets would be given to the airline in the future.
