*ISLAMABAD: Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization(ECO) Dr Hadi Soleimanpour will pay a four-day visit to Pakistan commencingfrom Tuesday (today).*
Dr Soleimanpour will pay his first visit to Pakistan after assuming chargeof secretary general of the economic inter-governmental organisation inAugust 2018.
During his stay, the visiting dignitary will hold meetings with thePresident Dr Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan and the Foreign MinisterShah Mehmood Qureshi.
Discussions will be held on issues pertaining to cooperation amongst theECO member countries in different spheres.
Dr Soleimanpour will also meet the federal ministers of finance,information, planning & development, commerce, investment and others inorder to discuss cultural cooperation, infrastructure development, tradeliberalisation and regional connectivity amongst the member countries.
Earlier in the day, the German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas arrived inIslamabad after completion of his unannounced visit to Afghanistan. He isscheduled to have high-level meetings with the Pakistani leadership.
Upon arrival at Nur Khan Airbase, he was warmly welcomed by the highranking officials of the Foreign Office (FO).
