Pakistan Iran border communication increasing speedily: DG ISPR

ISLAMABAD – Director General Inter Services Public Relations, Major GeneralAsif Ghafoor has said that India has been engaged to destabilize Pakistanthrough subversive activities and arrest of Kulbhushan Jadhav hasvindicated our stance.

In an interview with a private news channel, he said we are facing aperpetual security threat from the Eastern side and added that India wouldnot like to see Pakistan’s efforts getting succeed against terrorism.

Replying a question, DG ISPR said Indian occupation forces have carried outmore than 1300 ceasefire violations along the Line of Control and theWorking Boundary in 2016.

He said complete peace in Afghanistan is imperative for peace in the regionand lasting peace in the region is linked with the situation in Afghanistan.

The DG ISPR said Pakistan has a good coordination with InternationalSecurity Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan and we can achieve peacethrough effective coordination.

He said that Pakistan Army played a commendable role in the war againstterrorism and eliminated terrorists from its soil including Swat and FATAthrough effective operations.

The military spokesman said the Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad is an intelligencebased operation and Pakistan will continue this operation till eliminationof last terrorist in the country.

He said despite all challenges, Pakistan is heading towards peace and allthis shows that Pakistanis are a resilient nation.

He said National Action Plan is a comprehensive plan to eradicate terrorismand extremism from the country and the civil and military leadership iscommitted to combat these menaces.

Answering a question, Major General Asif Ghafoor said that peace inBalochistan is also imperative for the protection of the projects of ChinaPakistan Economic Corridor.

The DG ISPR said that Pakistan has taken effective steps to secure theborder with Iran and border communication between the two countries isimproving speedily.
