Defiant Nawaz Sharif vows to strike back

LONDON – Former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)supremo Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday said that those talking about politicalasylum must listen that he is returning to Pakistan as he cannot leave thenation alone.

Addressing Workers’ Convention in London on Wednesday, he said that themission for sanctity of vote won’t stop whether he is jailed or hanged tilldeath.

The PML-N supremo said that he was returning to Pakistan for the sake ofnation.

“Those talking about my political asylum and those placing my name in theECL should listen, I am returning to Pakistan as he promised the people ofPakistan that he would restore sanctity of the vote,” Nawaz said.

I cannot leave the nation in the final mission to restore sanctity of thevote, he added.

Sharif went on to say that the verdict of the accountability court is thesecond episode of the July 28 judgement of the Supreme Court against them,adding that he was contesting the case to show the real face of justice topeople.

“The people of Pakistan have once again seen the real face of justice,” headded.

The former PM said: “I, my daughter and son-in-law were convicted despiteno charges of corruption were proved against them, adding that the decisionto punish them was taken somewhere else.”

“Those who convicted Maryam Nawaz have disgraced the daughters of entirenation,” he added.

Sharif further said that he was disqualified for not taking imaginarysalary from his son.
