ISLAMABAD – The Sharif family’s counsel completed on Wednesdaycross-examination of Wajid Zia, who is a key witness in the Avenfieldreference filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against theSharifs.
Judge Muhammad Bashir of the accountability court resumed the hearingtoday, local media reported. Sharif’s counsel Khawaja Haris had beenquestioning Zia, who headed the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing theoffshore companies of the family.
Haris completed his questioning today, after which former Prime MinisterNawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz’s counsel Amjad Pervez will begin hiscross-examination.
