ISLAMABAD: *Pakistan Auto Industry faces yet another blow as the sales ofautomobiles faces a sharp decline.*
The sale of cars in November 2019 plunged by 44.4pc to 8,524 units, asagainst the sale of 15,334 units in the same month of last year.
According to details, the sale of Honda cars (Civic and City) fell to 477units in November 2019 from 3,353 units in November 2018, showing a declineof 86pc.
Likewise, the sale of Toyota Corolla witnessed a decline of 66pc, as itwent down from 5,325 units in the corresponding month of last year to 1,806units in November 2019.
Meanwhile, the sale of newly launched Suzuki Alto stood at 3,213 units inNovember 2019, as against the sale of 4,945 units during the precedingmonth (October 2019). WagonR sales plummeted to 291 units during the monthunder review from 3,232 units in November last year, showing a decline of91pc.
The sale of Suzuki Cultus also witnessed a sharp decline of 68.12pc, as itdropped from 2,287 units in November last year to 729 units in Novemberthis year.
The overall auto sales during the first five months (July-Nov) of FY20declined by 44.12pc, from 87,897 units in 5MFY19 to 49,110 units in 5MFY20.
During the period, the sale of Toyota Corolla cars declined from 24,119units to 10,090 units, while that of Honda cars went down from 20,094 unitsto 5,885 units.
