ISLAMABAD – Maryam Nawaz Sharif faces a big setback from the PTIgovernment.
The federal cabinet today opposed to send Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz(PML-N) vice president Maryam Nawaz abroad, sources reported.
Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired the meeting of federal cabinet inIslamabad to discuss the national matters.
Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda strongly opposed to letMaryam Nawaz fly abroad. He urged the government not to exclude her namefrom the Exit Control List (ECL). Several ministers, including PM Imran,agreed with his opinion.
According to details, the participants have also deliberated on the ongoingpolitical and economic condition of the country while suggestions regardingimprovement in the performance of the government officials were alsopresented.
Meanwhile, the members of the session also got briefing over the prices ofelectricity and gas. PM Imran expressed anger over the hike in prices ofelectricity, and directed the Ministry of Energy to change its mechanism.
In addition, a briefing was sought from the Home Ministry on the LocalGovernment Commission and approval of the appointment of the OverseasFoundation Board of Governors.
